Solved Unwanted Google Font at Child Theme Divi Ultimate Magazin

    Good Day from Germany (with some strong GDPR rules)

    To avoid any trouble with the GDPR in Germany we disabled Google Fonts at Divi Options as first. All Fonts we are using are uploaded with "UseAnyFont".

    But on all Websites where we use Divi Ultimate Themes i can see the Font "Herr von Muellerhof" and the URL fonts.googleapis.com in the Code.

    I have checked the Font and we do not use it anywhere - i saw this font at the Restaurant Theme "Welcome" Letters at the Top of this Theme at Divi Ultimate … but we using the Magazin Theme. So i think it is somewhere hard coded inside?

    i can not make a discussion with our clients about this - i just have to disable completely any IP-Adress-Transfers from Website-Visitors to Google etc. People here driving nuts if you just say "GDPR" a little bit too loud. Way more strickter than in other countries.

    maybe someone knows how i can disable this font or delete the layout where it is used (if it helps)? i have no clue where to start searching … or is there any other solution for Ultimate out there where this is already done? Our Divi Ultimate PlugIn is at version 8.0.2

    Nice! i can not find this font anymore. … but there still dns-fetch to google-font server in the code - at line 3 so as a first - i don't know where its coming from at websites. i just cross checked our other divi websites without DU childs - there is no dns-fetch to the google server. problem

    What if you remove the , 99
    add_action( 'wp_print_styles', 'du_dequeue_unnecessary_styles' );

    And see if it works.

    If not, you might want to delete the code in WP Admin > Plugins > Plugin Editor > Divi Ultimate Plugin > divi-ultimate-plugin.php - line 60:

    perfect - the first solution (remove the 99) made no results but deleting the line 60. no google connection anymore. thanks a lot! i'll will do it now on all sites. again - very fast support. solved in few hours. thanks again!

    one more question … will you remove the line in future updates? i mean gdpr in europe is a thing and at least for everybody else who don't need to take care they still can turn on google fonts in divi settings. imo no need for this code. i ask only if i need to save this thread for us for future updates or not. if you ask me - remove it. ;)

    We might not remove it, as it will cause some of the existing users sites to have display issue.

    But you may try the below code in child theme functions.php to remove the dns-prefetch:

    i understand - i'll archive this thread with all informations. atm its everywhere deleted. next update i'll try the code for functions-php.
