Solved All background images are pixelated/blurry

    Hi,

I've created this site: http://sarakahnnutrition.whitneybateson.com/ using Divi theme and child theme.

Basically, I'm trying to use an image that has an ideal resolution (ie, 2000 width x 1333 height at 968kb file size) as a background image but it becomes super pixelated (please see screenshot). It seems like it resizes or over compresses all images. I never encountered this issue before with Divi.

I thought it might have been a plugin issue (namely "Smush" and "SG Optimizer") but when I temporarily disabled these plugins and tried to reinsert this image as the background image, I still encounter the same issue.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Looks fine to me. Perhaps you already resolved it.

Hey Ron (and anyone else who comes after.)

I'm replying because I was looking for the answer too. I slapped myself in the forehead once I found it...

Before selecting the "Upload an image" button on the lower right after selecting your Background image, on my screen you can just barely see part of the words Attachment Display Settings.

Of course, I had to scroll down on the right side to see the whole thing and there it was. For some reason, Divi selected the medium size image by default. Seems like a flaw to me because it doesn't seem to do this for anything else (such as Gallery).

Anyway, change it to Large or Full Size as appropriate and you should be good to go!

    I hope this helps.
