Now with Divi the Theme Builder, is there any benefit to continue using the Header or Footer plugin?

    QUESTION 1:

Now with Divi the Theme Builder, is there any benefit to continue using the Header or Footer plugin?

I'm referring to our continued use of the Divi Ultimate Header Plugin and the Divi Ultimate Footer Plugin.

Now that the Divi Theme Builder is integrated (on the front end of Divi) so we can edit the header and footer (built with the Divi Theme Builder) when using Divi's Front End Builder, it seems (at least from what I'm seeing) that we should be using this instead of using Divi Ultimate's Header and Footer plugin.

Because when using Divi Ultimate's Header and Footer plugin, we do not have the ability to edit the header or footer (when editing in the Divi front end builder mode).

And I'm not seeing any benefit any longer in using the Divi Ultimate Header or Footer plugin. My question is, .. is there any benefit to continue using these two plugins or should we just start using the Divi Theme Builder (when building our headers and footers)??? I was looking for thoughts on this.

    QUESTION 2:

Will or has Divi Ultimate moved away from the continued use of these two plugin (for the header and footer)? I'm just curious how Divi Ultimate is handling the potential recommended use of the Divi Theme Builder instead of the Header and Footer plugins?

    QUESTION 3:

Is there any way to incorporate the Divi Ultimate Header and Footer designs into the Divi Theme Builder (easily) so we can import .json files into the Divi Theme Builder (with the typical Divi Ultimate Header and Footer styles)?? Any thoughts on this? I also have access to Divi Block, and I'm just curious as to what is recommended by Divi.Help (in our use of Divi Ultimate or Divi Powerful Themes)?

Please let me know what the current thoughts are? I searched but didn't find any prior conversations about this. If I missed information in the Community area, if this has already been discussed, please just point me to those posts.

    Thanks,
    Gary Gordon

    Divi Ultimate Header Plugin

    Hi Gary,

I love the Divi Theme Builder.

I've found the Divi Ultimate Header to be extremely buggy. When I examine how a style is supposed to look in the divi library and then implement it on a site often the look is completely messed up, hence it's useless.

I love some of the design features especially the way they have css'ed the post slider which for the life of me I can't figure out how to implement that style into the Divi Theme Builder.

Thanks for your thoughts. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend the DIVI BLOCK from Divi.Help. The items in Divi Block can easily be imported into the Divi Theme Builder (as well as pages and posts). :)

I am attempting to stay away from anything that I can't code by myself. I've found so many of these Divi "tools" to be buggy though I can't speak to Divi Block.

Just checked out Divi Block. Nice. But how easy is it to modify the CSS. I looked at the headers. Breakpoints are always an issue if there are many items in a menu.

For Divi Ultimate Header Plugin, you may use it if you wish to have:
    1. Default Divi slide in / fullscreen menu on mobile.
    2. Vertical navigation menu style.
    3. Quick hover effects.

Otherwise you can use Divi Theme Builder for your custom header.

For Divi Theme Builder, it’s recommended to use Divi Block for the premade header styles. And we have all the Header plugin styles ported to Divi Block. We also have mobile slide in / fullscreen menu built with Divi Builder. And hover effects + mega menu as well.

    =======

As for Divi Ultimate Footer plugin, only use it if you need the revealing footer effect.

If not, you may use Divi Theme Builder global footer.
For Divi Ultimate, we will just stick to what we have right now, as it’s always optional whether you want to use our custom header feature or Divi Theme Builder global header.
If you refer to Divi Block, you will see that all the Divi Ultimate custom header & footer designs are already ported to Divi Block as premade blocks.

In short, you get to use all Divi Ultimate header & footer designs in Divi Theme Builder using Divi Block.
If you’re referring to display issue inside Theme Customizer, check this out: https://divi.help/threads/why-custom-header-style-is-looking-weird-on-the-theme-customizer.355/
**It’s due to Divi static css file cache issue in Theme Customizer.

    =======

As for live site, if you find it display wrongly, then you just have to clear your Divi static css file cache: WP Admin > Divi > Theme Options > Builder >Advanced > Static CSS File Generation > Clear
You will also have this issue if you’re building your own menu using Divi Builder. Will need some extra CSS to fix it.

Hi Greg. Just a thought for you. If the biggest challenge you're finding is the mobile breakpoints, if I'm understanding you correctly, might be to consider using this plugin: https://www.peeayecreative.com/product/divi-responsive-helper/ It looks pretty good and might make things easier for you. (I haven't used it yet myself. Here's a page with a video from Nelson, on the topic.) https://www.peeayecreative.com/how-to-change-the-divi-menu-module-responsive-breakpoint/ PS: In addition to Divi.Help (DIVI BLOCK) I also use in addition to this some headers and layouts, etc., from Divi.Express. But you'll probably have the same issue with your breakpoints and the CSS.

I use Chromes Developer Tools to target CSS but even then it can be difficult to find the css I want. Generally I can.

    Thanks for your thoughts.
